English - Al Hadith - Imaan (Faith)

Imaan (Belief)


♣ Allah's Apostle sallallahu alaihiwasallam said: Islam is based on (the following) five (principles):

​1. To testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and Muhammad (sallallahu alaihiwasallam) is Allah's ​ Apostle.

2. To offer the (compulsory congregational) prayers dutifully and perfectly.

​3. To pay Zakat (i.e. obligatory charity) .

​4. To perform Hajj. (i.e. Pilgrimage to Mecca)

​5. To observe fast during the month of Ramadan.

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​♣ Allah's Apostle sallallahu alaihiwasallam said:

"By Him in Whose Hands my life is, none of you will have faith till he loves me more than his father and his children."


Narrated by Abu Huraira (RadiyAllahu Anhu)​​

♣ The Prophet sallallahu alaihiwasallam said:

"None of you will have faith till he loves me more than his father, his children and all mankind."

​​​​♣ The Prophet sallallahu alaihiwasallam said:

"Faith (Belief) consists of more than sixty branches (i.e. parts). And Haya (This term "Haya" covers a large number of concepts which are to be taken together; amongst them are self respect, modesty, bashfulness, and scruple, etc.) is a part of faith."

♣ Once Allah's Apostle sallallahu alaihiwasallam passed by an Ansari (man) who was admonishing to his brother regarding Haya'. On that Allah's Apostle sallallahu alaihiwasallam said, "Leave him as Haya' is a part of faith."

​​​​​​♣ The Prophet sallallahu alaihiwasallam said:

"None of you will have faith till he wishes for his (Muslim) brother what he likes for himself."

♣ The Prophet sallallahu alaihiwasallam said:

"Whoever possesses the following three qualities will have the sweetness (delight) of faith:

1. The one to whom Allah and His Apostle becomes dearer than anything else.

2. Who loves a person and he loves him only for Allah's sake.

3. Who hates to revert to Atheism (disbelief) as he hates to be thrown into the fire."​​​​​

♣ The Prophet sallallahu alaihiwasallam said:

"Love for the Ansar is a sign of faith and hatred for the Ansar is a sign of hypocrisy."

♣ ​​​Allah's Apostle Sallallahu Alaihiwasallam was asked, "What is the best deed?" He replied, "To believe in Allah and His Apostle (Muhammad). The questioner then asked, "What is the next (in goodness)? He replied, "To participate in Jihad (religious fighting) in Allah's Cause." The questioner again asked, "What is the next (in goodness)?" He replied, "To perform Hajj (Pilgrim age to Mecca) 'Mubrur, (which is accepted by Allah and is performed with the intention of seeking Allah's pleasure only and not to show off and without committing a sin and in accordance with the traditions of the Prophet)."
